Tiny House
The project is a residence for a retired couple returning from Mumbai to their hometown. Given the tight margins of the plot, the design approach focuses on keeping the spaces open, airy, and well-ventilated while maintaining privacy and comfort. The layout is organized around a central courtyard that acts as the heart of the home, tying the interior spaces together and offering a calm, meditative environment at the core of the building.
The courtyard not only ensures cross-ventilation and natural light but also becomes a social and spiritual anchor for the couple’s daily life. It creates a sense of grandeur by opening up the house vertically and spatially, yet the intimacy of the courtyard binds the residence closely, making it feel warm and personal. The balance between openness and enclosure allows the design to feel expansive despite the limited plot size.
This home is envisioned as both a retreat and a place of belonging—a space that supports the couple’s slower pace of life while embracing the traditions and climate of their hometown. Through simplicity of form and thoughtful spatial connections, the house aspires to create a timeless setting for rest, reflection, and togetherness.
